Privacy policy: what happens to your data
Short version: I collect what you type into the estimator. I use it to send you the estimate and reply to you. I do not sell it or add you to anything.
Google Analytics is on this site in consent mode. Until you allow it in the banner, it sets no cookies and sends Google only anonymous, cookie-free page counts. There is no advertising, and the fonts are served from this server. The cost estimator does its math in your own browser. What you type only leaves your device when you send a form.
What data do I collect?
Through the contact form, the project brief and the estimator, and only if you choose to send one:
- Your name, and an email address or phone number, so I can reply the way you asked.
- Your answers. In the estimator: project type, page count, languages, layers and timeline. In the brief: whatever you fill in.
- Anything you write in the message fields. Entirely optional.
- The page you sent it from, so I know which page raised the question.
Using the calculator itself collects nothing. The questions and the result are worked out in your own browser. Nothing leaves your device until you press the send button.
Separately, Google Analytics records visits: pages viewed, how you arrived, device and browser type, and approximate location. With your consent, it uses cookies to tell a returning visitor from a new one. Without consent, it sends only anonymous, cookie-free pings.
Why do I collect it?
To send you the estimate you asked for, and to reply about your project. There is no newsletter, no drip sequence and no advertising list.
Analytics is there to see which pages are useful and which ones people leave, so the site can be improved. It is not used for advertising.
Who else sees your data?
If you send a form
- Cloudflare passes the submission on, through a small relay called a Worker. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google. A Google Apps Script writes it into a Google Sheet and sends the email through Gmail, because that is where I keep and read enquiries.
- Telegram. I get a short notification in a private Telegram chat, so I can reply quickly.
For everyone who visits
- Google Analytics, as described above, in consent mode. See Google's privacy policy.
- GitHub Pages serves this site and keeps standard server logs, as any web server does.
Nobody else. Your data is not sold, rented or shared for advertising, and there is no mailing list to be added to.
Cookies and analytics
No cookies are set unless you allow analytics. None for advertising, none for preferences. Your choice in the privacy banner is stored in your browser's local storage, on your device, readable only by this site.
This site uses Google Analytics 4 with Google's Consent Mode. Until you click Allow analytics, it sets no cookies and sends Google only anonymous, cookie-free pings.
If you allow it, Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga), which last up to two years. You can withdraw at any time through Privacy settings in the footer. Saying no costs you nothing, and the site behaves identically either way.
How long do I keep your data?
Enquiries are kept for 24 months and then deleted. If we start working together, normal Polish business and accounting record-keeping periods apply instead.
What are your rights?
Under GDPR, you can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it or stop using it. Email imarket2web@gmail.com and I will deal with it within 30 days.
You can also complain to your national data protection authority. In Poland, that is UODO.
