SEO audit
Before you order anything, I look at your site for free.
Already have a website? We start with an SEO audit, not an invoice. Over a few days I go through the site, the Google Business Profile and the businesses currently above you, and then we spend thirty minutes on what I found. No obligation: if you order nothing, you keep the list anyway.
Because otherwise we are both guessing
I cannot honestly price work on a site I have not seen from the inside. One business needs two days of technical fixes; the next needs a new structure and twenty pages of copy; the third does not need SEO at all right now, it needs better photographs and a clearer offer. The audit is what tells those three apart.
So it is a bonus rather than a line on an invoice. If you have a site and are considering any service from me - SEO, the Google Business Profile, content, ads or a rebuild - the audit happens before you order and is not added to anything.
The six layers I check
- Technical health. Indexing, speed, the mobile version, redirects, duplicates, structured data and language versions. This is where a few hours of work most often sits blocking everything above it.
- Keywords against the competition. What you are visible for today, what the businesses above you are visible for, and where the gap is that your budget can actually take.
- Content and page structure. Whether each service has its own page, whether the copy answers a real search, and whether pages are competing with each other for the same phrase.
- Google Business Profile and local results. Categories, services, description, photos, reviews and whether your business details agree with each other across the web. More on that here.
- AI search visibility. How AI assistants describe your business today, and whether they have anything to work from - that is, whether the site carries unambiguous facts worth quoting.
- Analytics. Whether GA4 and Search Console work at all, and whether they measure calls and enquiries rather than impressions. Without that, every later budget decision is a guess.
Three steps, and no twenty-field form
- 1 · You send me the address. By phone, email or the form - whichever suits you. If you have Google Analytics and Search Console, read access helps. If you do not have them, that is itself a finding.
- 2 · I go through the site and the competition. Two to four working days, depending on size and number of languages. The result is a list of findings, each with a priority and an estimate of the work.
- 3 · We talk for thirty minutes. We go down the list: what to fix this week, what this quarter, and what not to do at all. Only then does a conversation about price make sense.
What this audit is not
It is not a hundred-page PDF generated by a tool. Those reports look impressive and say nothing about order - and for a one-person business the order is the whole job. You get a list you can read over a coffee, and a call where I explain what follows from it.
It is not the fix either. The audit says what to do; doing it is separate work and a separate price. Some findings will be small enough that you can fix them yourself in an hour - and I will tell you plainly which ones.
It does not promise you first place or a citation in ChatGPT. Nobody can guarantee either. If the audit shows SEO is not your best spend right now, you will hear that from me, even if it costs me the job.
The audit usually leads to one of three things
Most often the site is salvageable and a keyword strategy with a content plan is enough - €300 once. Sometimes the site is built in a way that makes rebuilding cheaper than patching: a site of up to four pages is €500, up to ten is €800, and the SEO strategy is inside the package. And sometimes the whole blockage is in the Google Business Profile, and the calls show up within a month.
Common questions
What does an SEO audit cost?
Nothing, if you already have a site and are considering any service from me. The audit is the first step, not a line on an invoice. You get a list of findings and a thirty-minute call where I talk you through it. If you then decide to order nothing, you keep the list and owe me nothing.
What exactly do you check?
Six layers: the technical state of the site, a keyword map against the businesses currently above you, content and page structure, the Google Business Profile and local results, AI search visibility, and analytics. Every finding carries a priority and an estimate of the work involved.
How long does it take?
Two to four working days, depending on the size of the site and the number of languages. Then we book the call. You do not need to prepare anything: I only need the address, and read access to Google Analytics and Search Console if you have them.
Is the audit the same as an SEO strategy?
No. The audit says what is wrong and what to do first. The €300 SEO strategy is the keyword map assigned to specific pages, the competitor research and a content plan for several months. The audit is the step that tells you whether that strategy is worth buying at your budget.
What if I do not have a site yet?
Then there is nothing to audit. You get the same thing in a different shape: I look at the businesses ranking above you and show what they are standing on, before we design anything. That work is inside the website package.
